There are a lot of health benefits to swimming- such as cardiovascular, strength, and endurance. It can also help you cross train between your regular workouts. You can work almost all your muscles with very little joint strain. According to WebMD, "water cushions stiff joints or fragile bones that might be injured by the impact of land exercises." Swimming uses all the major muscle groups: shoulders, back, abs, hips, and glutes.
If you are new to swimming, you can start with walking or running the length of the pool and work your way up to swimming for 10 minutes. Eventually, you will be swimming for 30 minutes! What are you waiting for? Dive into our pool!
